February is the best month at Nayara Springs without qualification. It is the driest month in the Arenal basin, the cone is visible most mornings from first light until 9 or 10am, and trail conditions across Arenal Volcano National Park are at their annual peak. The 8am rule still applies — Arenal will cloud over even on the driest days — but February gives you the best chance of a sustained morning view before the cap descends. The lava field hike, the Mistico bridges, and the canyoning and rappelling tours that run through the volcanic waterfall system are all fully accessible.
