Fly into AZS
Fly into El Catey (AZS), then east toward Samaná town and up into Monte Rojo. The climb is steep and rocky — high-clearance vehicle recommended. The hotel shuttle is the smarter call for night arrivals when the track is harder to read.

Cayo Levantado is visible from the pool — coordinate a local boatman through the hotel and leave the Samaná pier by 8:30am to reach the beach before the day-trip ferries unload.
Monte Rojo: above the noise
Ten minutes above Samaná town in the Monte Rojo hills — isolated enough for silence, close enough to use the town as a base. Cash-preferred on property; the restaurant and bar run on cash due to intermittent signal on the ridge.
